Massachusetts Racket Masters 2026

MENS ELITE SINGLES

Was 2026 shaping up to be the year when an American would finally take the title in the men’s elite draw in Massachusetts? With three top Americans in the line up – Pat Moran, Jonathan Gill, and Zain Magdon-Ismail – along with the withdrawal of Patrick Laplante due to injury, expectations were high. Frenchman Madrin Mouchet looked to be the only potential obstacle, and unfortunately for the American trio, that’s exactly how things played out. Jonathan Gill, the pre-tournament favorite among the American squad, pushed Mandrin to the brink. WIth Mandrin dominating the badminton, and Jonathan doing the same in squash, the pair headed into tennis with Jonathan ahead by one. Mandrin showed his experience on the tennis court and went on to win the tennis 21-16, and seal the victory. In the final, Zain Magdon-Ismail, who took out Patrick Moran in the other semi-final, proved to be no match for Mandrin who won the final before tennis.

MENS ELITE DOUBLES

The men’s doubles was a 4 team round robin and this time, the Americans were able to dominate. Pat Moran teamed up with Zain Magdon-Ismail and the pair defeated all their opposing teams. Harrison Gill, the standout squash player of the tournament, teamed up with his brother Johathan to compete in his first ever racketlon, and the brothers were able to take the silver. Canadian pair Darren Mak and Christian Yu took the bronze.

MENS B SINGLES

Seasoned Canadian veteran Dany Lessard held on for a 1 point victory over Yu Kiu Kevin Leung in his semi final, before facing Bulgarian Stoyan Dimitrov in the final. Despite Stoyan taking an early lead in table tennis, Dany went on to take the other 3 sports, and an overall win of +4. Yu Kiu Kevin Leung took the bronze with a win over local squash specialist Pedro De Almeida.

MENS C SINGLES

In the C singles, some of North America’s upcoming younger players were on display, with Elliot Hicks taking the title over Rafi Magdon-Ismail. Canada Racketlon Association president Marc Fortin took the bronze.

SENIORS

Tournament host Andy Stenson was hoping for the three-peat in this event, and it looked like Dany Lessard was the only thing that might stand in his way. While Andy moved though his round robin stage with relative ease, Dany was pushed to his limit by Estate Kokosadze. The final was a back and forth affair with Andy taking the table tennis, Dany the badminton, Andy the squash, leading into tennis with Andy ahead by 1. Dany jumped out to an early 7-1 lead before Andy clawed his back to tie it up shortly after the switch. Dany was able to close it out with a strong second half of tennis and clinched the gold. Estate Kokosadze took the bronze.

B DOUBLES

In the final event, Stoyan and Nathaniel Thornell took the gold, first time racketlon players Anders Olson and Stephen Sacchetti took the silver, and Chris Adusei-Poku & Elliot Hicks took the bronze.
