What a day of Racketlon at the 2025 FIR Racketlon World Doubles Championships! Leon Griffiths claimed two titles today and is the first man in racketlon history to claim five men’s doubles titles in five consequtive years.
The mixed doubles was played earlier that day, with Jacobsen and Radermacher taking a close match against Jaussein and Mustonen. They won table-tennis and badminton and put up a good fight in squash and tennis taking the match +7 (21-18 21-8 14-21 13-15). Their opponents were last year’s silver medalists Fischer and Griffiths. Fischer and Griffiths fought off a late comeback from Hageraats and Enmer in squash to take tennis 12-7 and the match 21-12 21-18 19-21 12-7).
The final definitely did not dissapoint! Jacobsen and Radermacher got off to a good start winning table tennis and badminton 21-16 21-17, before Fischer and Griffiths got some valuable points back in squash. Stine definitely made the most out of badminton hitting some great winners. Amke was playing some really nice backhand dropshots in squash gaining her an 11-9 lead. Leon was moving well and made life very difficult for Cornelius. They won squash 21-12 which equaled the score going into tennis.
Tennis was very close agian, neither pair giving an inch before Jacobsen/Radermacher took a 16-14 lead. Griffiths and Fischer fought back, with some great volleys from Amke to set up match point taking the match 21-18 to claim their first title together!
Koen Hageraats and Myriam Enmer got the better of Nathalie Vogel and Kresten Hougaard in the 3/4 playoff. They won the match +10 (21-18 21-18 21-17 12-12) to claim the bronze medal.

Ahlmer and Jacobsen claim their first title together in a thrilling final!
The women’s final was close all the way. Anna-Klara Ahlmer and Stine Jacobsen have played quite a few times before whilst this was the first time Nathalie Vogel and Myriam Enmer played together. Jacobsen and Ahlmer mentioned yesterday that they were quite happy with Ahlmers badminton and she showed that again today. The Scandinavian pair won table tennis 21-18, and played some very strong badminton to take it 21-15. Squash was close as well, and the whole match showed how close these players are to each other!
Myriam took an 11-7 lead, but Anna-Klara had different plans. She did not let Nathalie get into her game, who has always beaten her in squash before on the IWT tour. Nathalie kept creating a small lead but Anna-Klara kept fighting back, 16-16, 18-18, 20-20.. it would be the difference in a 9 point or 11 point lead going into tennis. Anna-Klara managed to take squash 22-20 which meant that they only needed 11 points in tennis. This would by no means be an easy one, as Myriam and Nathalie are both strong tennis players. Ahlmer and Jacobsen kept their composure, taking the match 11-9 and their first World title together!
After the match she said that “it feels great to defend the title… Very pleased with my game today! Especially squash against Nathalie! Last time I lost squash to her but today I won when we needed it the most!”
Anna-Klara Ahlmer has successfully defended her title from last year and Stine Jacobsen has won her 4th Women’s Doubles title (4th consecutive one due to Stine not being able to play last year due to injury) and she is only the third woman in racketlon history to have four women’s doubles titles. Congrats both!
French duo Flore Allègre and Marie Jaussein finished third, beating Kirsten Kaptein and Adeline Kilchenmann (19-21 21-3 21-18 2-3).
Watch the women’s final back – with great commentary from Kresten Hougaard!

A first title for Koen, a fifth consequtive title for Leon
Coming into this tournament, Koen Hageraats and Leon Griffiths were the favourites to win the title. However they still had to work for it. After their semi-final win against Champod and Ternon they faced Böhm and Radermacher in the final who came through a big battle against Hougaard and Thyregod in the semi-finals which they won +6 (15-21 26-24 24-22 21-13).
The German pair put on a fight in the final, but Griffiths and Hageraats proved too strong. Both excellent table tennis and squash players, and playing with Leon even made Koen feel like he was a badminton player. The top seeds were too strong and won the match +39 (21-10 21-9 21-5).
After the match Koen said “Playing with Leon is the best men doubles experience so far. Playing badminton with him even gives me the illusion of being a badminton player haha”
An incredible achievement for Leon who becomes the first men to win the men’s doubles title for the five times, and even more impressive is that he has won it five times in a row! Congrats Leon!
Kresten Hougaard and Malte Thyregod got the better of Nicolas Champod and Sylvain Ternon for bronze, taking the match +7 (13-21 18-21 21-16 21-8).
