As the autumn leaves begin to turn in the beautiful city of Prague, racket sports enthusiasts from around the world are gearing up for the first SWT event of the season. The SWT Czech Open will take place from October 11-13 at SportCentre Hector. We start with the doubles on Friday and follow suit with the singles draws on Saturday.
In the MD, top seeds Böhm/Vaclahovsky play their first match against the young Austrian duo Prager/Sam, before potentially taking on Griffiths/Hageraats in the semi-finals. This is the first time Griffiths/Hageraats have teamed up and we can’t deny this is a pairing we might have been waiting for. Czech duo Breznen/Kniezek will take on Hedlund/Horácek in their first round, whilst Kanonenberg/Ng take on second seeds Carlier/Kurek.
Joyce Chan and Kirsten Kaptein are the top seeds and are looking strong for the title. They take on Königsmarková and Vancuríková in their first match. Beranová/Palotainé Pozsár play Zobačová/Byrtusová for a place in the final.
Hong Kong duo Chan/Ng are the favourites for the mixed doubles title. They play Hlavacova/Egermaier in their fist match. On the other side of the draw, Kaptein/Kanonenberg take on Reissenauer/Böhm in an exciting first round match.

Strong singles draws in Prague
The men’s elite draw is kicking off on Friday evening in a very strong 32 draw headed by world no 1 Sylvain Ternon and world no 2 and defending Champion Leon Griffiths. Ternon plays the winner between Svec and Volf, and has a potential quarter-final clash with Koen Hageraats provided he wins his match against either Kniezek or Davidson. Ternon has never beaten the Dutchman in their previous three meetings and will be aiming to try and get his first win against him on the board.
Joerg Kanonenberg is the no 7 seed and plays Port or Prager in his first match. If all goes to seeding he will play Mandrin Mouchet [4] if he gets past Sam or Sopko in his round 2 match.

René Lindberg [5] takes on either Horácek or Lesser whilst Kurek takes on the winner between Hedlund and Górski [WC].
