An incredible result from the Danish player after undergoing back surgery three months ago. Jacobsen won the title in 2021 and can now call herself a two time World Champion.
Jacobsen had to battle past world no 1 Ahlmer in the semi-finals. Jacobsen took a head start in table tennis, taking it 21-12 and badminton 21-7. She then went on to take squash 21-15 and the match +29 (21-12 21-7 21-15).
The other semi-final was an all German battle between Nathalie Vogel and Amke Fischer. They had only met once on the IWT tour back in 2014 where Nathalie took the victory. Amke started very strong in table-tennis, taking it 21-8. Nathalie bounced back in badminton taking it 21-14. Squash was also a very close, going point for point, but Vogel managed to take the win 21-18. This meant that Fischer went into tennis with a +3 lead. Fischer got the early lead in tennis, and never looked back. She won it 19-13, taking out the Defending Champion +9 (21-8 14-21 18-21 19-13).

Before the final, Fischer was leading 2-1 in their head-to-head, with Jacobsen beating her for the first time in the final in India last year by +4 (13-21 21-6 21-23 17-18). A very close encounter and we couldn’t expect anything else this time around!
Fischer managed to get a small head start in table tennis, taking it 21-17 before Jacobsen took badminton 21-10. Squash was very close with Fischer leading most of the time, but somehow Jacobsen managed to fight herself back in, taking it 21-18. This resulted in a +10 lead for Jacobsen in tennis. She managed to stay in the game in tennis, not letting Amke get ahead too much claiming the win 12-14 and claiming her second World Championship title. The overall score was +8 (17-21 21-10 21-18 12-14).
After her win Jacobsen said she “feels a bit proud” after a tough year being injured for most of it. “Proud to be back and a little bit surprised about my level, I was maybe a bit lucky in this match.. I was way behind in TT and also behind in squash but I managed to turn it around so maybe a little bit of luck”.
Nathalie Vogel won the battle for bronze against Anna-Klara Ahlmer, taking the match +25 (21-18 21-11 21-9).
