The last day of the Norwegian Open did not disappoint, as we saw some high-quality matches and exciting finals, an excellent finish to a well run first edition of the Norwegian Open.
Jacobsen wins fourth title of the season
Stine Jacobsen continued her impressive performance in today’s final, demonstrating her grit and determination as she secured the victory over Myriam Enmer with a score of +36 (21-8 21-5 21-14). In a swift and dominant display, Jacobsen asserted her dominance from the outset, particularly in badminton, securing a 21-5 victory.
Squash was a lot closer, but Jacobsen maintained her strong form and clinched her fourth title of the year with a 21-14 victory in squash. She also won her second gold medal this event, in what is another successful weekend for the Danish player.
Meanwhile, Anna-Klara Ahlmer emerged victorious over Kirsten Kaptein to claim the bronze medal, taking the match +26 (21-14 21-10 21-13).
Ternon claims third title
Sylvain Ternon has been in outstanding form so far this season, claiming his third title today in the final against Nicolas Lenggenhager. He won the match +18 (15-21 21-12 21-15 13-4), in an entertaining final. Lenggenhager took the lead in table-tennis, playing some aggressive shots which definitely paid off. Ternon bounced back, taking badminton 21-12 and squash 21-15 which resulted in him only needing 13 points in tennis. He sealed the match 13-4 claiming his third title.
Malte Thyregod finds himself on the podium after defeating wildcard Jesper Hedlund with a score of +11 (6-21 21-2 21-18 15-11). A first singles podium finish for the Dane this season and a good performance from Hedlund in his first appearance in the Men’s A.
Open category titles for – Mäkelä, Edby and Haugteien
Mäkelä won the Women’s B title winning both her matches before tennis. She beat silver medalist Victoria Mai +23 (21-8 19-21 21-9) and bronze medalist Madeline Messina +46 (21-7 21-4 21-6). The men’s B was won by Magnus Edby who defeated fellow Swede Anders Lätt +25 (21-17 21-10 21-11) in the final. Bertrand Carlier won the bronze medal after beating Magnus Bäckström +26 (21-19 21-9 21-9) preventing an all Swedish podium in Norway. The title for the First timers went to Andreas Hammer Haugteien from Norway, after he beat Áron Tarkó +12 (5-21 21-11 21-12 21-12) in the final. Jörgen Eriksson won the bronze medal.

Kotala wins the U21 as Lorkiewicz and Bäckström take senior titles
Andreas Kotala was victorious in the U21 junior category after he beat Thibault Soubeyrand +44 (21-3 21-3 8-0) and Jahanzeb Sarfraz, who unfortunately had to retire in his last match. Soubeyrand took silver and Sarfraz bronze. Greg Lorkiewicz defeated Magnus Edby in a closely contested final taking it +4 (21-18 18-21 21-17 18-18). Windbacher took the bronze medal beating Anders Lätt +15 (17-21 21-5 21-18 7-7). The seniors +50 was won by Magnus Bäckström after he won both his group matches. He beat silver medalist Frank Kleiber +16 (18-21 21-10 21-18 11-6) and bronze medalist Graham King +37 (21-11 21-10 21-5).
