Ahlmer and Paul to play the deciding group match tomorrow

The women are playing their poule matches today and tomorrow, and the first match was immediately a close affair. Ahlmer had to push hard to get a win against Altmann, who is considerably lower on the FIR ranking (2 vs 40) but who is always a dangerous opponent. Altmann took table tennis and badminton 21-17 21-19 before Ahlmer edged squash 21-19. It was during tennis where Ahlmer was able to seal the match, taking it 21-14 and the match +3. The score was +3 (17-21 19-21 21-19 21-14). Altmann had to play twice today, and she took her win in her second match. She beat Paul +12 (21-16 13-21 21-8 12-10). The last match is tomorrow between Ahlmer and Paul. It could potentially go to a gummi-arm playoff if Paul wins the match. Their head-to-head is 3-3, with Ahlmer taking their last encounter at the French Open in 2019. The match will be livestreamed tomorrow on our Facebook page from 11:00 (GMT +2).
