The hugely popular IWT Latvian Open returns for the first time since 2019 as the Racketlon World Tour ventures back to Riga.
The Tennis Club ENRI has hosted numerous the Latvian Open for multiple years now and is a firm favourite of some of racketlon’s most familiar faces, including the Griffiths brothers.
The tournament will take place from Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 10.
This is the 6th edition of the IWT Latvian Open, with the tournament making its return to the Racketlon World Tour for the first time since 2019. It was due to take place in both 2020 and 2021 but was cancelled due to COVID.
We’re delighted that the tournament is making its long-awaited return to the Racketlon World Tour. Here is all the information you need to enter.
IWT Latvian Open Player Entry
Player entry is already open for the IWT Latvian Open. It opened earlier this year and already has over 30 entries from 12 different countries – including Australia, New Zealand and India.
The player entry deadline is June 27. However, we would encourage all interested players to enter as early as possible. A reminder that you can withdraw from the tournament at no cost right up until July 27.

Draws & Match Schedule
While the draws will be published the week before the tournament, a planned schedule has already largely been organised.
The tournament starts on Friday, July 8 at 11:00. The last games will be on Sunday, July 10 at 15:00.
The current provisional tournament schedule is as follows:
- Friday: Doubles – All matches except finals and bronze medal matches. Seniors Singles will begin with rounds one and two.
- Saturday: All Singles Groups and Doubles Finals.
- Sunday; Seniors, Juniors, Amateur and Elite Finals.
It is possible to enter two singles categories if entering an open category and a juniors/seniors category. However, you can only enter one open singles category. It is possible to enter two doubles categories.
Due to world ranking, previous tournaments, category size or the strength of a player, the organising committee can move played to other categories. To have a guaranteed place, we recommend early entry.
Venue Information
The IWT Latvian Open is taking place once again at Tennis Club ENRI in Riga, Latvia. The venue has a rich racketlon history, having hosted every edition of the Latvian Open so far.
The tournament boasts three high-quality indoor tennis courts, as well as four squash courts. There will be three badminton mats placed on a fourth tennis court and also four table tennis tables to complete the setup at the venue.

As always, there are plenty of other options for all kinds of needs on Booking.com or AirBnB. Riga is a relatively small city so you can always get to the sports centre easily within 30 minutes from most parts of the city.
Travel
The tournament is located slightly to the East of central Riga and is extremely accessible by plane, boat and car.
If you are travelling by air, then there are direct flights to Riga International Airport from most European country capitals. Several low-cost companies, including Ryanair, Wiz Air and Norwegian Air all operate to and from Riga.
To travel from Riga Airport to the sports centre is 17km, which is around 30 minutes by car. Alternatively, the city centre is only a 20-minute drive from the Airport.
It is also possible to travel to Riga by boat. There is a direct ferry from Stockholm to Riga which runs daily. Alternatively, there is a ferry that runs from Helsinki to Tallinn, where it is then possible to get a bus to Riga.
