The racketlon rankings have updated for April, despite all tournaments being cancelled up to June due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The ranking changes this month comes as the results from the 2018 IWT Club La Santa fall off this rankings chart.
Men’s Singles Rankings
Dan Busby is the big winner in the men’s singles rankings. He leapfrogs Kresten Hougaard back up to No.3 in the world, as Hougaard won the tournament in Lanzarote two years ago. Morten Jaksland, who came second, remains as World No.1 by over 2,500 points.
Oliver Buhler loses out in the race to reach the top 10. He falls down from No.11 to No.13 with Nikola Mikac now up to No.11 and closest to making a top 10 debut.
After finishing third at the tournament, Christian Schaefer falls out of the top 20, with Michal Horacek moving into the top 20 to replace him.
Luke Barnes, Jesper Hougaard and Mohammed Tarik Koubaa also suffered big falls as a result of the Club La Santa Open results coming off.
Women’s Singles Rankings
There were no changes to the top 10 of the women’s rankings but a number of falls lower down. Esther Dubendorfer and Anastasiya Bruzgina both fell out of the top 20. This allowed for an array of new career highs. Stine Krogose lands at No.16, Natalia Prado at No.18, Irina Olsacher at No.19, Zuzana Vancurkova at No.20 and Matilda Parslow at No.23 are all celebrating new career highs.
Laura Smits and Valerie Nesenhoner were the biggest fallers in the latest rankings. Smits fells 22 places after finishing as runner-up in the Women’s A in Lanzarote, while Nesenhoner also fell 21 spots.
Other Rankings
Due to the lack of tournaments this year the movements were very limited across all the ranking lists. However, there was one change at No.1. Silke Altmann overtook Esther Dubendorfer in the Seniors Mixed Doubles to become World No.1. Graham King also entered the top 10 as Marc Oliver Grau fell out of the top 10.
