It was doubles day at the SWT Indian Open Racketlon 2025, held at the prestigious Willingdon Sports Club in Mumbai. Favourites Ahlmer and Jacobsen took their first win before tennis against Chung and Ranson, beating them 21-12 21-13 21-11. They secured their title beating Cavé and Kilchenmann 21-13 21-14 21-19 5-5. Cavé and Kilchenmann won the silver medal after defeating Chung and Ranson 15-21 21-17 21-10 21-6.
Leon Griffiths and Malte Thyregod won their first title together. They took on USA/Australian duo Moran and Sands in the semi-finals, taking the win +31 (21-11 212 22-20), before playing Hageraats and Kanonenberg who beat Koubaa and Lenggenhager +24 (23-21 21-9 21-11).
The final was incredibly close, with Griffiths and Thyregod taking it by +1 (9-21 21-5 8-21 21-11) in a real contrast of player profiles! Koubaa and Lenggenhager took home bronze, beating Moran/Sands +23 (21-9 21-15 21-16).
The mixed doubles final will be played tomorrow morning, with Danish duo Thyregod and Jacobsen taking on Griffiths/Chung. The Danish pair got the better of Böhm/Ranson by +9 in their opening match, before beating Kanonenberg/Ahlmer +4 (21-16 21-12 14-21 15-18). Chung/Griffiths took down the Swiss pair Lenggenhager/Kilchenmann by +22 (21-11 21-11 22-20) to secure their spot in the final.
Singles
The SWT men’s A draw will kick off tomorrow, with top seeds Koubaa and Patrick Moran aiming for their first SWT title. It already started for the women’s A, with top seeds Singh and Jhawar safely through to the semi-finals.
We can also get ready for the World Tour Finals to kick off. In the women’s Group A Anna-Klara Ahlmer, Holly Ranson, and Adeline Kilchenmann will battle it out for a place in the semi-finals, whilst Pauline Cavé, Stine Jacobsen and Stephanie Chung will battle it out in group B.
World no 1 Leon Griffiths is in group A where he will face Bastian Böhm, Julien Castel and Leon Sam. In group B Nicolas Lenggenhager, Joerg Kanonenberg, Koen Hageraats and Malte Thyregod will be playing for a place in the semi-finals.
