Stacked Women’s Elite Draw in Rotterdam | World Championships Singles

Last year’s champion Stine Jacobsen is back in Rotterdam, attempting to win a record-equalling third World Championships. As the defending champion, the Dane will be seeded 1 for the 2025 edition.

It’s an insanely strong top quarter of the draw, with all four players occupying places in the top 10 of the World Rankings.

Stephanie Chung from the USA will play Stine Jacobsen first, whilst British junior Holly Ranson plays against the only other World Champion in the draw, Myriam Enmer.

The head to head between the World Number 5 & 6 is one match each, with Holly winning their most recent battle, in Berlin earlier this year.

Needless to say, whoever progresses from the top quarter will need to be switched on from the very beginning!

The two wildcards in the Women’s Singles are Izzy Bramhall from Great Britain and Susanne Docter from the Netherlands. They’ve been drawn to play against each other in round 1.

Izzy is the defending Seniors 55+ World Champion and has won 12 elite singles titles, whereas Susanne has only competed in one international racketlon tournament, picking up a silver in the C Grade of last year’s World Championships.

Meanwhile, Frenchwoman Pauline Cavé will play Austrian Clarissa Steiner. Pauline has been one of the most consistent athletes in the last 12 months, winning elite singles titles in Austria, India and Germany.

Local star Kirsten I. Kaptein has the best chance to progress to the semi finals of a World Championships for the first time. The Dutchwoman will play against Dara Ladner from Switzerland in round 1, who she beat to win the 2023 Czech Open.

Rounding out the third quarter is Austrian Sandra Ettenauer and Mollie Patterson from Great Britain.

Despite being unseeded, no one will be taking Amke Fischer lightly. The German came runner-up at this event last year and holds a 7-3 lead head-to-head against World Number 1, Anna-Klara Ahlmer. Although since 2021, Anna-Klara leads 3-1.

There’s a decent chance these two women will play against each other in the quarter finals, but first Amke would have to beat Matilda Parslow from Great Britain and Anna-Klara plays Alina Reissenauer from Germany.
