Finnish pair Kaisu Anttila & Linnea Koskinen have won the Women’s Doubles at the Finnish Open, needing a 21-8 tennis set in their semi final, to overcome Kirsten Kaptein & Viivi Paksu by just one point.
In the final against Emilia Kostiainen & Katherine Serrano, Anttila & Koskinen also trailed before tennis, but another great tennis performance secured the title by 11 points.
It is a first elite World Tour title for both players. Linnea Koskinen continued her winning ways into the evening, adding the Mixed B Grade Doubles title to her collection.

Men’s Doubles: Kainulainen & Mustonen unstoppable
The Men’s Doubles was also won by a Finnish duo. Pekka Kainulainen & Henrik Mustonen had teamed up together on the World Tour five times, but never won a title together. Their previous best result was runner-up and it came on the biggest stage: the 2021 World Doubles Championships!
Their day started with a strong win over Polish pair Adam Borkowski & Piotr Ostaszyk. The Poles won table tennis before the Finns were dominant in the final three sports.
Then there was an all-Finnish battle, when they took on Mikko Nissinen & Juho Vuorinen. This win was even more dominant. After a couple of +45 titles in 2023 & 2024, this is Pekka’s first elite title!
Mikko Nissinen & Juho Vuorinen defeated Adam Borkowski & Piotr Ostaszyk for the silver medal.

Mixed Doubles: First World Tour title for Spain
In the evening, Katherine Serrano became the first Spanish player, male or female, to win an elite World Tour title.
Teaming up with Finn Henrik Mustonen, the pair were dominant from start to finish, winning their semi final before tennis.
British/Dutch combination Keith Lesser & Kirsten Kaptein had also won their semi final before tennis, but they were unable to stop Henrik & Katherine’s momentum. The Finnish/Spanish pair finished the event winning all six sets and not needing their tennis racquets.
Henrik Mustonen’s two doubles titles from this weekend brings his career tally to 8 (i.e. 2 singles, 2 doubles and 4 mixed World Tour titles).
