It was a great start for the home players on day one of the SWT Austrian Open Graz. Clarissa Steiner won her first SWT women’s doubles title together with world no 3 Pauline Cavé, having won both group matches quite comfortably. Barta-Boncz/Ettenauer finished second and Dashzeveg/Hnatiuk finished third.
It was Cavé’s second title of the day as she won the mixed doubles earlier with Julien Castel. They beat Reissenauer/Böhm and Steiner/Urban on their way to victory. Alina Reissenauer and Bastian Böhm managed to scrape the silver medal, defeating Clarissa Steiner and Stefan Urban by just one point. The score was +1 (17-21 13-21 21-11 22-19).
The men’s title went to youngsters Bastian Böhm and Leon Sam, after they got the better of Michal Kurek and Keith Lesser in a close match. The overall score was +12 (14-21 21-6 12-21 21-8). Roland Pichler and Matěj Volf finished third, beating Prager and Urban +21 (22-20 21-15 21-8 1-1) for bronze.
