Top seeds claim doubles titles in Norway

Anna-Klara Ahlmer and Kirsten Kaptein stormed to another women’s doubles title together claiming the IWT Norwegian Open title after winning both their group matches. This is Kirsten’s 11th doubles title and Anna-Klara’s 21st women’s doubles title. They won both their matches before tennis. Atkinson and T finished 2nd and Rørvik and Torp finished third.

The mixed elite title went to Ahlmer and Kanonenberg, as they beat silver medalists Kaptein/Lorkiewicz (22-20 21-8 21-9). Victoria T and Ola Ulmo finished third.

Hougaard and Thyregod claimed the men’s elite title. They beat Davidson/Gupta in the semi finals by +11 (21-14 21-16 14-21 17-11) in an entertaining match, before taking on Kanonenberg/Ng who got the better of Mamié/Moran in their semi final by +18 (8-21 21-9 21-17 19-14).

The Danes got off to a great start in the final, taking table tennis 21-8, before Kanonenberg/NG bounced back taking badminton 21-11. Squash went to Hougaard/Thyregod 21-11 which meant they only needed 9 more points going into tennis. They won tennis 9-10 and the match +12 (21-8 11-21 21-11 9-10).

Davidson/Gupta won bronze, taking the match +16 (16-21 21-15 21-8 8-6) against Mamié/Moran.
