Sylvain Ternon is the new World No 1

The May rankings are out and there are some big changes! Let’s see where the players stand before the 2024 FIR Racketlon World Doubles that are kicking off next week!

Sylvain Ternon is the new number 1

A big moment for Sylvain Ternon as the Frenchman will be on top of the rankings for the first time in his career. He overtakes Leon Griffiths who had a successful run of 13 months at the no 1 position. Griffiths has the chance to retake the position next month if he performs well at the Nordic Racket Games.

Koen Hageraats is back at world no 3 after his French Open victory two weeks ago, whilst World Champion Luke Griffiths drops down to no 5. René Lindberg moves up one spot overtaking Simon Vaclahovsky and is now back at his highest ranking of no 6.

Other big movements are from Duncan Stahl, who goes up five spots to no 11, and Michal Kurek who rises seven places to no 18.

Men’s Ranking

Kaptein reaches highest ranking of world no 3

Kirsten Kaptein reached her highest ranking of world no 3 this month, overtaking French no 1 Myriam Enmer. Kaptein has had good results this season, making the podium in all events she played. Anna-Klara Ahlmer and Stine Jacobsen stay at no 1 and 2, whilst Adeline Kilchenmann is back in the top 10 overtaking Joyce Chan.

French Open Champion Pauline Cavé moves three positions to world no 12, edging closer and closer to breaking the top 10 for the first time in her career. Aurélie Haurant also moved up the rankings, rising seven spots to no 18.

Women’s Rankings

Senior and Junior rankings

Christian Schaefer moved back up to the world no 2 position overtaking Anthony Duthuillé. No further movements in the senior men’s top 5 as Stahl remains at no 1. Christian Börner goes up one place to no 7 as well as Bertrand Carlier and Graham King, who is back in the top 10.

There are no changes in the women’s senior top 10, but after a comeback this season Fabienne Dony rises 7 spots to no 11. Katrin Maldre also rises three spots to no 12.

Luke Griffiths and Bastian Böhm stay on top of the boys rankings, as Lucas Steyer moves to his highest ranking of world no 3. Matt Davidson is back in the top 5 at no 4, whilst Florian Harca drops down two positions to no 5. There are no changes in the girls junior rankings as three time British Champion Holly Ranson stays at no 1.
