It’s been a busy month on the IWT tour with three tournaments taking place in February. This also means a lot of movements and new career highs for several players. Let’s take a look who the biggest movers are.
Top 10 debut for Joyce Chan
Joyce Chan becomes the first player of Hong Kong to reach the world’s top 10, after winning the CHA Hong Kong Open and finishing second at the Australian Open. She rises 8 places to world no 10. Meanwhile, Anna-Klara Ahlmer stays on top after winning the CHA Finnish Open, as Stine Jacobsen swaps places with Myriam Enmer going back to no 2. Great Britains Holly Ranson also moves up one spot, sitting at a career high of no 8, overtaking Dara Ladner.
Career high for Lindberg and a first ever top 10 appearance for Sion Wiggin
After winning the Australian Open last weekend it’s a first ever top 10 appearance for Sion Wiggin, who rises three spots to no 9. René Lindberg also reaches his career high after winning the Finnish Open CHA as he now sits at world no 6. The top five remains the same, adding another month to Leon Griffiths streak as world no 1. Meanwhile Morten Jaksland drops down to no 11 which will be the first time 2015 that the Dane won’t feature in the world’s top 10. Hong Kong Open Champion Kevin Ng rises 23 spots to world no 30.
Senior and Junior rankings
Duncan Stahl is back at no 1 of the men’s senior rankings after making the final of the Australian Open Sat last week. Duthuillé and Schaefer both drop down one spot, whilst Graham King and Jan Port both rise one spot each to world no 9 and 10. There are no changes to the women’s seniors top 5, but Amke Fischer moves up 5 spots to world no 7 with some good results in Australia.
There are no changes in the girls top 10, but there are some movements on the boys juniors ranking. Lucas Steyer moves up 2 spots to his highest ranking of world no 3, whilst Matt Davidson drops down to no 5. After an excellent run in Finland Jesse Kiljunen jumps seven spots and sits just outside the top 5 at no 8.
