The IWT tour is back after a short break

We can look forward to two tournaments in the next three weeks, the IWT Czech Open, and the Bombay Gymkhana International Racketlon Open (IWT). Both tournaments have a very strong line-up, especially the men at the Czech Open which sees a 16-player draw headed by world No. 1 Leon Griffiths. This is Leon’s fifth tournament this season, and he will be looking for another title after winning the Nordic and London Open earlier this year. He will face tough opposition with world no 5 Koen Hageraats in the mix, this will only be Koen’s third tournament this season as he was out with an injury until June.

The tournament will feature three top 10 players as world no 7 Simon Vaclahovsky is also in the draw. There is lot of local interest with six Czech players participating. The women’s draw will be a 4 player draw, headed by world no 4 Kirsten Kaptein. She will be joined by world no 9 Dara Ladner from Switzerland, Austria’s Sandra Ettenauer and Germany’s Heike Voigt.

Back on the calendar but now as an IWT tournament, the Bombay Gymkhana International Racketlon Open also promises to be a spectacular event. A star lineup with both Griffiths brothers confirmed to play the event, alongside Nicolas Lennggenhager #3, Koen Hageraats #5, Kresten Hougaard #6, and former singles World Champion Calum Reid (his first individual appearance since 2021). The women’s event will be a battle for the world no 1 position between Anna-Klara Ahlmer and Stine Jacobsen who’ve both been on top of the rankings this year. Former world no 2 Amke Fischer and current world no 7 Stephanie Chung will also play the event. We can look forward to some exciting matches and make sure to follow our social media for updates during the tournaments.
