The June rankings are out… there are not a lot of movements at the top positions, however Dara Ladner from Switzerland is making her top 10 debut this month, whilst Luka Penttinen is back at world no 6 after a good run at the Nordic Racket Games.
Ladner makes top 10 debut, 4th consecutive month at no 1 for Jacobsen
Switzerland’s Dara Ladner has made her top 10 debut this month, she played the IWT French Open and Nordic Racket Games so far, and is set to play the Swiss Open, London Open, and the FIR World Doubles Championships. The rest of the top 10 remains the same, with only Astrid Reimer-Kern moving up one spot as Christine Seehofer-Krenn has dropped outside the top 10. Reimer-Kern will come in action for the first time this season at the IWT London Open and the FIR World Doubles World Championships. She will play doubles with the 2023 Nordic Racket Games champion Nathalie Vogel. Vogel is closing in on another top 10 appearance, moving up 9 spots to no 11. Also close to making it to the top 10 are Flore Allègre and Holly Ranson. Both players have been having good results this season, and are now at no 12 and 13 respectively. Jacobsen stays at no 1 for another month. Ahlmer has closed the gap a little bit, making the final of the Nordic Racket Games. Jacobsen will play the IWT German Open next week looking to solidify her top position.
Penttinen back at no 6 after good run at the Nordic Racket Games
Penttinen is back in the top 10 at no 6 after finishing third at the Nordic Racket Games last month. The Finn has been having a good season so far, winning the IWT Finnish Open title back in February, and reaching the semi-finals of the Nordic Racket Games. There are quite a few movements in the men’s rankings. Ternon has moved up to a career-high ranking of world no 5, he’s made two finals so far this season, and has entered the IWT German Open and the IWT Swiss Open. Schöpf, Stahl and Luke Griffiths all dropped one spot, whilst Lindberg moves up one spot to world no 9. Leon Griffiths stays on top of the rankings for another month. He beat Morten Jaksland in a thrilling final at the Nordic Racket Games. We will see both of them back in action at the IWT London Open and the 2023 FIR World Doubles Championships.
Ranson top 10 in the women’s doubles for the first time, and a lot of movement in the men’s doubles ranking
UK’s Holly Ranson has made it to the women’s doubles top 10 for the first time in her career. She’s been having a great season so far, making the semi-finals of the women’s doubles in Poland and Denmark. Flore Allègre and Stine Krogsøehas have had good results so far, both jumping 10 and 11 spots to world no 12 and 11. There is a lot of movement in the men’s doubles ranking, Jaksland overtakes Lenggenhager to move back to no 2. Luke Griffiths moves down to no 5 whilst Max Plettenberg moves up two places to no4. Stahl moves down to 7, Kresten Hougaard goes up three spots to no 6 after winning the men’s doubles in Denmark, and Kurek and Duthuillé round up the men’s doubles top 10.
