IWT Lausanne Open | Tournament preview

We are gearing up for Lausanne’s first-ever ladies-only IWT tournament. The tournament is set to kick off on Saturday, after an exciting city tour of the stunning Lausanne on Friday. This event presents an excellent opportunity for women to get to know the sport while also celebrating women’s sports.

The top seed for the event is the newly crowned Polish Open Champion Anna-Klara Ahlmer. She is proving to be in good form and hungry for another IWT title. She faces strong opposition in world no 4 Kirsten Kaptein and French Open runner-up Marie Jaussein. The rest of the draw is made up of Swiss players Ladner, Pelet, Kilchenmann and Schmid, and Frenchwoman Lou Adler. Ahlmer has the toughest opening round, playing world no 12 Dara Ladner, who got a bit unlucky with the live draw for this event. The second quarter-final will be between world no 105 Lou Adler and world no 91 Marine Pelet. Pelet finished 4th at the women’s B World Championships. On the bottom half of the draw, no 2 seed Kaptein will play world no 98 Schmid. The other quarter-final is between Jaussein and world no 28 Kilchenmann. The full draw can be found here.

The other categories are the women’s B singles and doubles, and women’s beginners. The women’s B consists of swiss players and two players from Chinese Tapei. The first matches will kick off at 9:15 on Saturday.
