This week sees the 2nd Sport Austria Finals with over 6,000 athletes from 27 federations. All the athletes are battling to be crowned the Austrian champion in over 200 competitions in Graz between Wednesday 17 and Sunday 19 June.
A part of the Sport Austria Finals is Racketlon Federation Austria holding the Austrian Championships. This is being held for all age classes in singles, double and the Bundesliga for teams. The Austrian Championships are being played at the World Championship venue, Racketsport Center Graz.
“Thursday is Juniors & Seniors Day, followed by the Doubles Day on Friday. Saturday, the Team Champion is determined before lastly, the most important medals in singles can be won on Sunday”, says RFA President Marcel Weigl.
Digital Score Sheets at Austrian Championships in Graz
For the first time in Racketlon history, there are no paper score sheets being used at the tournament. The centre courts at the event have live scoring, meaning players do not need to worry.
For the other courts, players will now scan their matches on their mobile phones. They can enter the score after each set and the live scores are visible for all racketlon fans around the world to see here.
This fantastic innovation will also be used at the FIR Racketlon World Championships 2022. Furthermore, the test for the FIR Racketlon World Championships from August 19-28 in Vienna and Graz as a fully green event went well.
