Prague Hosts 2020 World Doubles Championship and IWT Czech Open

On behalf of the Czech Racketlon Association, I would like to sincerely invite you all again to beautiful spring Prague. Not only do we have the traditional IWT 16th Czech Open held on April 3-5, but this time we also host the FIR 18TH World Doubles Championships on April 2-3.

Both tournaments will take place in the well-known venue sports centre Hector, which provides four-sport courts for each racketlon discipline. For the World Championships, we offer the maximum number of 25 categories.

World Doubles Championships

Only two doubles entries are possible per player. Juniors and Seniors can only play one age class. For example:

  • Juniors U16 Doubles + Men’s B/C/D Doubles or any Mixed Doubles category – YES
  • Seniors +45 Doubles + Men’s B/C/D Doubles or any Mixed Doubles category – YES
  • Juniors U16 Doubles + Juniors U18 Doubles or Seniors +$5 Doubles + Seniors +50 Doubles – NO

The Doubles World Championships will start on Thursday, 2nd April at 9:00 with the Men’s A Doubles. Other categories will follow. On Friday, doubles will continue until the evening hours, when all final matches will be played. On Friday evening (approx.. 21:00), the Medal Ceremony will take place where all winners of all categories at the World Doubles Championships will be announced.

For all participants, we offer “Doubles Dinner” for 15 euros per person. Please order and pay for your dinner ahead, together with the registration fee on Thursday morning.

IWT Czech Open

On Friday morning, the IWT Czech Open will start with the singles categories getting underway. Only two singles entries per player are available.

Other singles categories (Women, Juniors and Seniors) will start on Saturday morning. For Saturday evening, the Players Dinner will take place and is included in the registration fee for singles categories. The Players Party will follow.

On Sunday, all matches in singles categories will be finished. Around 18:00 IWT Czech Open will end with the Medal Ceremony.

Accommodation and Travel

Regarding the accommodation, we can offer you two tournament hotels – Villa and Populus. Please make your reservations as early as possible, as the capacity is limited and on a “first come, first served” basis. There will be a shuttle service available during the whole day between both hotels and the sports centre.

To travel from the airport, we can organise a transfer for you for an additional fee. You can also use the taxi service directly at the airport or public transportation. You can find more information about accommodation here.
