Racketlon’s Fundraising Campaign
2020 was dominated by the global pandemic with nearly the entire World Tour having to be cancelled. 2021 has seen the cancellation of all tournaments in the first half of the year as well as the cancellation of the World Championships in Austria this August. As a result, approximately 70% of the FIR’s usual income has been lost.
While we have made every effort to adapt, reduce costs and agree to new payment terms with suppliers, it has meant that we have had to use up nearly all of our financial reserves in order to stay afloat.
Why We Urgently Need to Raise Funds
We simply want to be able to continue to have World Tour tournaments (and hopefully continue to expand into new cities and countries). We want to maintain our World Rankings system and our annual World Championships. We want to continue the roll-out of our junior development programme (with our pilot programme already launched). We want to continue to be able to welcome and support new countries into the sport (Spain, Luxembourg, Thailand, Afghanistan and Norway have all recently joined the Racketlon family and recent developments mean we hope to soon welcome countries like Peru, Ghana, UAE and Egypt). We want to continue the huge growth and impact of our social media activity. We want to install a live streaming service at every world tour tournament. We want to help our member countries set up online advertising campaigns to promote their tournaments and grow their player numbers.
But all of the above is now under threat. This is why we now need your support to help our wonderful sport and community through these uncertain times. And we need to raise the majority of these funds over the next 3 months.
How You Can Help
Limited Edition, High-Performance Victor Racketlon Shirt
We’re asking for a donation of 50 euros from all those who are able to help our sport. Everyone who donates will receive a very special Racketlon shirt that has a one-off, limited edition design (see pics). The shirt itself is supplied by our friends at Victor and is a lightweight, high-performance tournament shirt that will be fantastic to play in.
The shirt is also designed in order to help promote Racketlon – so please wear your shirt whilst playing in your TT, Badminton, Squash or Tennis leagues, tournaments and clubs. And wear your shirt with pride as it’s a great way to show that you have supported Racketlon when we really needed it!
