We are very excited to publish the first announcement of the 2027 World Tour – with more tournaments still to be added in the 2nd announcement later this year. A huge thanks as always to all the hard work of the World Tour Committee and also to our team of Tournament Directors and member countries across the world.
As already announced, our showpiece World Championships: Teams & Singles will go to Helsinki – with Finland (along with Sweden) being the original birthplace of Racketlon, it is a great moment to bring our world champs to a country so steeped in Racketlon tradition for the very first time.
Inventist in Istanbul will host the inaugural Women’s World Team Championships – alongside the Doubles World Championships and an SWT – this is going to be a huge 4 days of Racketlon in Turkey!).
The women’s teams is a brand new FIR initiative to inspire countries to continue develop more women players and the response so far has been very encouraging. We expect this first ever Women’s World Teams in Istanbul to be a highly competitive event and hopefully a landmark moment for our sport.
Once again we will start the Tour down in New Zealand (those international players who make the trip will receive a great welcome in an amazing country to visit). Quickly followed by the first of our four SWT’s on Tour at the amazing Hong Kong Football Club – it’s an incredible venue, right in the heart of one of the world’s great cities and is always brilliantly organised by HK Racketlon.
One of our newest destinations on the World Tour is Cairo in Egypt – and after starting with a Challenger in November this year, our team in Egypt have already confirmed their intention to expand the tournament (they already have considerable local interest and many new players) and will go on to host an IWT in Cairo at the end of March 2027.
New cities for the World Tour in Strasbourg (May) and also in Gliwice in Poland (June) offer new destinations for our community and the Racket Masters in Augsburg, Germany has been upgraded to an SWT.
In our 2nd announcement we expect to reveal more tournaments, particularly in the 2nd half of the year:
Czech Open (5-7 Nov 2027) tbc
Swiss Open tbc
Austrian Open tbc
RISA (Racketlon India Sports Association) will once again host our end of season finale with the World Tour Race Finals (+ our final SWT) at the iconic Willingdon Sports Club in Mumbai (who put on an amazing show and acts as a great prize for our top 8 players, men and women on the 2027 Tour to qualify for).
With our first tournaments of the year visiting New Zealand, Hong Kong, Egypt, Strasbourg and Istanbul, it just shows how quickly our Tour has developed, with such a diverse range of continents and countries, with new cities and clubs providing so many great opportunities across the world.
We now get to play our amazing sport in some truly amazing places!
