SWT Austrian Open Day 1 – The new generation takes over

It’s been a fantastic first day of Racketlon at the SWT Austrian Open. This is a third SWT title for Holly and a first SWT title for Mollie, congrats!

The men’s doubles draw saw a few upsets. Patzelt and Prager defeated second seeds Pichler and Windbacher by +9 (21-5 15-21 12-21 21-13), before taking on Castel and Lenggenhager in the semi-finals. Castel/Lenggenhager proved to be the slightly stronger pair, taking the match +6 (10-21 21-4 21-14 9-16). Their opponents in the final were top seeds Böhm/Sam who got through their semi-final against  Hörtinger/Weigl with some close games. The overall score was +16 (21-16 21-19 21-18 12-6).
