The IWT Racket Masters Augsburg Tournament Preview

This weekend we see the return of the IWT Racket Masters Augsburg Tournament in Germany. Augsburg is situated in the South of Germany just 50km from Munich and is a great city to visit.

The tournament itself is set to be a busy one, with sixty-four players from eight different nations playing across the weekend in a range of categories. From the men’s and women’s Elite to the over 40’s singles events, we are set to see a very high level of sport across the board.

The tournament will be kicking off on Friday, with Bastian Böhm and Silke Altmann looking to defend their mixed doubles title, against some very tough opposition, including first seeds Pauline Cavé and Julian Castel, and second seeds Alina Reissenauer and Joerg Kanonenberg. Böhm will also be looking to defend his doubles title, but this time he will be attempting to win it with a new partner, Leonhard Prager. The singles will then commence on Saturday, with some exciting first round matches, such as the first seed, Joerg Kanonenberg vs Leonhard Prager and Andreas Kotala taking on second seed Luke Griffiths, in the men’s A. The Women’s A event will also be starting on Saturday, with a strong field spread across the two boxes, as they all fight it out for a spot in Sunday’s final.  Pauline Cavé and Adeline Kilchenmann are the top two seeds in the event, and the competition will certainly be one to watch.

Good Luck to all the players, I am sure it will be a fantastic tournament.
