Myriam Enmer has had a perfect start in Turkey, picking up doubles titles with Anna-Klara Ahlmer and Nicolas Lenggenhager. Meanwhile, Bastian Böhm & Leon Griffiths won the Men’s Doubles title.
Women’s Doubles
Frenchwoman Myriam Enmer & Swede Anna-Klara Ahlmer were hot favourites coming into the tournament and didn’t disappoint. They dismantled Kirsten I. Kaptein & Adeline Kilchenmann before tennis, the Dutch/Swiss combination are ranked 1 and 7 respectively in the Women’s Doubles world rankings.
The gold was secured for Enmer & Ahlmer in the following match, when they defeated Katherine Serrano from Spain & Elif Wong from Hong Kong, after dropping table tennis 21-17.
Lastly, Kaptein & Kilchenmann beat Serrano & Wong by 8 points for the silver medal.
Men’s Doubles
Both the top seeds, Leon Griffiths & Bastian Böhm and the second seeds, Nicolas Lenggenhager & Malte Thyregod, performed solidly to progress to the final.
Griffiths & Böhm are now ranked 1 and 2 in the world for Men’s Doubles, whilst Lenggenhager & Thyregod are ranked 4 and 20 (noting that Malte has played fewer tournaments). So, a high quality match was expected, especially in the badminton!
The first half of the match was neck and neck, with Leon & Bastian taking table tennis 21-18 before Nicolas & Malte won the badminton by the same margin. The top seeds then asserted their dominance in the squash with a 21-7 win and they won the title at 8-7 in the tennis. “We kept playing for fun though,” according to Nicolas Lenggenhager, “they won 21-18.”

Mixed Doubles
The Mixed Doubles semi finals were more closely contested with Myriam Enmer & Nicolas Lenggenhager upsetting second seeds Anna-Klara Ahlmer & Malte Thyregod. Top seeds Adeline Kilchenmann & Bastian Böhm were pushed to tennis by Katherine Serrano & Stefan Urban.
The final was surprisingly one-sided, with Myriam & Nicolas winning the title by 33 points.
It’s Lenggenhager’s first elite mixed title since winning the 2022 La Santa Open with Kirsten I. Kaptein. Not that he’s been keeping track! Nicolas responded, “I guess it is, I trust you on that 😆”
“It’s always nice to win of course. But it was especially pleasant to play with Myriam. We trained a lot together so we had a real good time. Our combination worked out very well, especially in tt.”
Singles Update
The singles started this morning and Lenggenhager has continued his strong form, winning his round 1 and 2 matches before tennis. He meets World Number 2, Sylvain Ternon in the semi final. Leon Griffiths and Bastian Böhm will be on the opposite side of the net in the other semi final.
In the Women’s Singles, only Anna-Klara Ahlmer and Myriam Enmer remain undefeated. But they are yet to play against each other!
