After the 2025 FIR Racketlon World Doubles Championships we now turn our focus on the IWT Swiss Open. There have been quite a few upsets on day 1 so far in the men and women’s elite draws.
Marie Jaussein is back in action and had a great day. She won two silver IWT medals in 2023, losing to Anna-Klara Ahlmer in the final of the IWT Lausanne Open. She got her revance today in the quarter-finals, beating the top seeds in a close match by +5 (17-21 21-15 13-21 21-10). She will face fellow French player Myriam Enmer in the semi-finals tomorrow.
On the other side of the draw Joyce Chan beat 3/4 seed Kaptein and Austrian no 1 Clarissa Steiner to set up a semi-final against Stine Jacobsen.
Top seeds Hageraats and Hougaard got through to the semi-finals in contrasting matches. Hageraats has won both his matches before tennis and is playing Cornelius Radermacher who beat Nicolas Lenggenhager by + 8 (16-21 19-21 21-18 21-9) and by Leon Sam +27 (21-11 21-13 21-12).
