A new month means a new career high for some of our racketlon stars! Even though we’re well underway at the 2024 FIR Racketlon World Championships, we take a look at some of the biggest movers this month.
Kaptein reaches a career high of world no 2
Dutchwoman Kirsten Kaptein has reached a career high of world no 2 this month. She overtakes Stine Jacobsen who sits at three. 2022 World Champion Myriam Enmer drops out of the top 10 for the first time since December 2021, which means Chung, Vogel, Ranson, Kilchenmann and Joyce Chan all go up one spot.
Amke Fischer is close to returning to the world’s top 10 as she moves up two positions to world no 14, whilst Sandra Ettenauer jumps 15 places after winning the IWT Eurogames last week, which now sees her at the world no 15 position.
A first ever top 10 appearance for Joerg Kanonenberg
After having the best season of his career so far, Kanonenberg makes his first top 10 appearance this month, going up two places to world no 10. Meanwhile Nicolas Lenggenhager is back at world no 3, overtaking Luke Griffiths and Koen Hageraats. Frenchman Mandrin Mouchet also goes up one spot, overtaking Kresten Hougaard for the no 8 position.
Henrik Mustonen is very close to breaking into the top 10 at world no 11, alongside Cornelius Radermacher who rises seven spots after a good performance in Austra, as he now sits at no 12.
Koubaa and Kaptein new senior world no 1’s , Volf is back in the boys top 5
Mohammed Tarik Koubaa becomes the first senior world no 1 from Morocco as he rises three places to claim the top spot. Frenchmen Anthony Duthuillé and Bertrand Carlier also move up three places to world no 3 and world no 4 respectively. As well as taking the no 2 position in the women’s elite draw, Kirsten Kaptein overtakes Stine Jacobsen as the new women’s senior world no 1. Jacobsen had held this position since December 2021. Sandra Ettenauer moves six places to world no 4.
In the boys junior rankings, Lucas Steyer overtakes Matt Davidson at no 3, whilst Matej Volf moves back into the top 5. After a good performance in Austria, Clarissa Steiner is back at no 2 in the girls junior rankings. Alexandra Ogram drops down to world no 4.
