The women’s elite are kicking off today at 11:20AM with defending Champion Nathalie Vogel aiming to go for a fourth title this weekend. She plays world no 11 Joyce Chan in her first match. This is the first time the pair play in what will be an exciting match.
World no 7 Stephanie Chung takes on world no 10 Adeline Kilchenmann in her first match. Adeline leads 2-0 in their h2h. World no 5 Pauline Cavé plays junior world no 2 Clarissa Steiner, the winner will play Amke Fischer or Kirsten Kaptein.
2022 World Champion Stine Jacobsen is back from injury, as she takes on world no 21 Fabienne Dony. The winner will play Sandra Ettenauer or Matilda Parslow. Ettenauer won her first IWT title in Austria last week. Parslow made the quarters last year as well and will be looking to do the same this year.
It’s the battle of the Britts between Beth Pye and Holly Ranson in what will be a close and entertaining match. Beth won both their previous meetings at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships, but Holly won the British Champs earlier this year beating Beth in the semi-finals.
The last round 1 match is between world no 1 Anna-Klara Ahlmer and Izzy Bramhall. The last time they played singles was in 2019 where Izzy took the win. Anna-Klara Ahlmer has been on form since grabbing the world no 1 spot and will be ready for battle.
