Racketlon Federation Austria (RFA) staged their national championships last week as part of the Sport Austrian Finals (SAF), alongside 44 other sports – which was a fantastic event and great for the profile and exposure of Racketlon to sit alongside so many other sports.
The Men’s Final saw a dramatic end as Emanuel Schöpf won on a “Gummiarm” against the defending and record national champion Michael Dickert!
Also during the event Roland Pichler was confirmed as the new president of the RFA taking over from Marcel Weigl who had been president of the RFA for the last 20 years since its inception. The RFA was one of 6 founding country members of the FIR alongside England, Scotland, France, Bulgaria, and Sweden. Marcel’s huge contribution to Racketlon over the last 20 years cannot be understimated.
