It will be an exciting week during the 2024 FIR Racketlon World Championships, as we can see two legends of the game back in action. Four time World Champions Ratzer and Jønsson won back-to-back Men’s Doubles titles between 2012 and 2016. They won their last title together in 2016 in Denmark, beating Christian Austaller and Georg Stoisser +34 (21-8 21-11 21-10) in the final. Ratzer has won 27 men’s doubles IWT titles, whilst Jønsson picked up 18 titles.
Their last international racketlon outing was at the 2021 FIR World Championships Singles in Switzerland, where Jesper Ratzer won his sixth and last individual World Championships title. Ratzer defeated current World Champion Luke Griffiths in the semi-final and current world no 1 Leon Griffiths in the final.
It will be exciting to see how the pair do now, with such a depth of Racketlon experience, and the ability to convert matches when it counts.
Jesper Ratzer will also be playing in the mixed event with his daughter Scarlett Ratzer.
