A first elite final for Anttila
Kaisu Anttila caused a big upset today, beating no 2 seed Holly Ranson by just one point. The match was incredibly close, starting with a very tight game of table tennis that went to Ranson. Badminton and squash also went to the British player, but Anttila won tennis by a big margin giving her just that one point to take the match. The overall score was +1 (22-24 16-21 17-21 21-9). Anttila then went on to beat Heli Mäkelä +20 (19-21 21-15 21-17 14-2) to set up a finla against world no 1 Ahlmer.
Anna-Klara Ahlmer won her first match before tennis, taking it +48 (21-5 21-4 21-6) against Emilia Kostiainen. She then went on to beat Fabienne Dony +16 (13-21 21-12 21-5 5-6). The women’s final will be at 1:15pm tomorrow.
