Racketlon Federation Austria has announced the prize money for the elite winners of the FIR Racketlon World Championships 2022 from August 19-28.
€4,444 will be available for both the male and female winners of the elite singles titles. This is a record prize money in international racketlon.
Record €20,000 Prize Money
“We want to honour the hard work of the best in the world. In total, we are planning the record sum of €20,000”, says Racketlon Federation Austria and European Racketlon Union President Marcel Weigl.
Weigl further mentioned that the final distribution of prize money will depend on the total amount of money still to be raised by further sponsors. More information about sponsorship packages is available here.
The cash sponsors GENERALI, BP BAUWERT, SIMONER & SCHEDER, RACKETLON.SHOP and NUMBER ONE SOLUTIONS have already covered the prize money.
Wooden Medals as Racketlon Goes More Green
If all draws take place at the FIR Racketlon World Championship 2022 then 480 total medals will be needed. That is because we will need 160 gold, 160 silver and 160 bronze. Therefore, the tournament organisers have come up with a completely new innovation to save resources.
“Being a green event, we will have wooden medals for the first time in international racketlon history”, says Tournament Director Michael Steiner.
On top of the medals received by the champions, every single player will receive an additional participation medal with the World Champs logo on a white background. On the backside, the final placement and the name of the player can be individually engraved directly on site.
