Player entry is now open for the 2022 IWT German Open – the final tournament before the FIR Racketlon World Championships 2022.
The tournament will take place from August 5-7 at Racket Center Nussloch in Nussloch, Germany.
International racketlon returns to Nussloch for the first time since 2019, after being cancelled in both 2020 and 2021 due to COVID. Before the enforced two year break, the tournament had taken place in Nussloch every year from 2010 to 2019, making it one of the longest-running annual tournaments in racketlon history.
For those seeking a warm-up for the FIR Racketlon World Championships 2022, this is the perfect tournament. It is the final one before the year’s major event, taking place at the first weekend in August.
Return to Nussloch
This tournament marks the 11th time that an international racketlon tournament had taken place in Nussloch.
It first took place in 2010, after the German Open was previously held in Hamburg. From that year, the tournament found a spiritual home. The German Open returns to the venue every year from 2010 right up to 2019.
It was also scheduled to take place in both 2020 and 2021. However, difficulties with COVID meant that the tournament never took place, marking a temporary end to the 10 year run of international racketlon in Nussloch.
Now, we’re delighted to see racketlon return to the region. We welcome players from all across Germany, and the world, to take part in this prestigious tournament and achieve the perfect warm-up for the World Championships.
More information about the tournament will be published later this month, including accommodation, travel and schedule information. In the meantime, you can discover more about the tournament here.
