The FIR is delighted to announce the addition of a new tournament to the 2022 racketlon calendar. The Polish Open Challenger will be taking place near Warsaw on September 23 – 25, 2022.
The tournament will be taking place at Strefa Ruchu Książenice, and is a welcome return for international racketlon to Poland for the first time since 2014.
This challenger tournament becomes the 16th event confirmed for the 2022 season as the list of FIR World Tour and Challenger tournaments continues to grow. There will be further tournaments added to the calendar throughout the rest of the season.
“We hope the Polish Open will become an annual event in the FIR calendar”
“We are pleased and excited to be able to stage a Challenge tournament in Poland this year. After many years of absence, we are coming back to the game and we hope the Polish Open will become an annual event in the FIR calendar.
“The host club will be Strefa Ruchu Książenice, located very close to Warsaw city. It is a modern facility where the POlish Racketlon Championships have been held for a couple of years now, hosting over 70 players every year and growing. Many of them do not usually attend intentional tournaments we do strongly hope that having a tournament in Poland will encourage them to do so and will further develop the racketlon community in our country.
“We’re looking forward to seeing you in September”.

Polish Open Tournament Information
The tournament itself will all take place within the sports centre in late September. The tennis courts are indoor carpet and the venue itself has a rich racketlon history. That’s because for the last few years it’s hosted the Polish National Championships.
The tournament will begin at 9:00 am on Friday, September 23 and conclude mid-afternoon on Sunday, September 25. There will be a Players’ Dinner on the evening of Saturday, September 24.
The venue itself is 30km from Warsaw Airport. There will be a shuttle service running both from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the sports centre throughout the tournament.
More information about the tournament, including hotels, entry fees etc, will come later in 2022.
“Many thanks to Dariusz and his team for bringing this new tournament to life”
“We’re very excited to finally bring a Polish tournament onto the world tour again.
Poland has got a great Racketlon history – being previous winners of the team World Cup and Rav Rykowski being crowned European Champion in 2017). We’ll see in September they also have some great Racketlon venues and a strong base of local players.
Many thanks to Dariusz and his team for bringing this new tournament to life and I hope together we can grow this tournament into a regular stop on the world tour.
