Unfortunately, the planned Spanish Open Challenger in Elche / Alicante is unable to take place from 17th – 19th September.
A combination of factors all stemming from the uncertainty created by ever-changing covid restrictions has forced the local organisers to postpone the tournament until the Sping 2022.
As a first time tournament that has good support from the local authorities, the Spanish Association of Racketlon and the FIR both agreed that it made much more sense to launch the brand new Spanish Open once the covid situation was more stable. Plans have already started to re-schedule the tournament for the Spring of next year.
My thanks go to Niall, José and their team for all the enthusiasm and work they have already put in to launch Racketlon in Spain and I know that the first-ever Spanish Open is going to be a very special tournament in 2022.
