There was a small error in the recent calculation of the December rankings which mistakenly included the Club La Santa Open tournament from 2018. This has now been resolved resulting in a few small changes – the corrected rankings are now published online: December World Rankings
As previously announced, the December world rankings were temporarily unfrozen to take account of the recent Austrian Open, but the rankings will be frozen again until March 2021 when we hope to resume the FIR World Tour.
Then, from April 2021, the World Rankings will be based on a rolling 3 year period (as opposed to the normal 2 year period) until January 2022 at the earliest*. This will mean players will not lose any ranking points (by not having been able to play any tournaments during the pandemic) and will have until January 2022* to add to their ranking points before the system reverts to a 2 year rolling period.
*if the 2021 World Tour is also badly effected by coronavirus then we may delay the date of reverting to a 2 year rolling period to later than January 2022
