STATISTICS UPDATE AS FIR CHRISTMAS PRESENT

Finally another Racketlon year has passed and in the name of FIR we wish all the Racketlon community worldwide a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2010 regardless which religion we all follow. As a small Christmas present for you all FIR for the very first time publishes on www.racketlon.net the statistics of all time World Tour winners. What a surprise the Swedish retired Swedish topstars Magnus Eliasson and Lilian Druve are still in the lead. Furthermore all Statistics subpages have been updated, but check for yourself!

Eliasson with record of 36 victories

It will take some more years until a player can come near to Magnus Eliasson record of 36 World Tour titles, which is nearly half of 80 World Tour tournaments in total ever played. Another proof of what a dominating player Magnus Eliasson was in the past years and some will only acknowledge this now that he has retired. Second placed Mikko Kärkkäinen (11) is miles behind followed by Christoph Krenn (7), Calum Reid (6) and Stefan Adamsson (4). These five are also the only players who won more than two World Tour titles. One who should have won more but had to be satisfied with two in the end, has also announced his retirement. We will all miss gentleman Doug Struthers on the Tour.

Druve wins 13 World Tour Titles

On the Women side there is a huge variety of World Tour winners with retired Lilian Druve (13) still in the lead. 20 different players have won 73 World Tour titles all together. It might only take two years for Martina Kakosova (8), Silke Altmann (7), Linda Jansson (7) or Michaela Björnström (5) to take over the lead. Especially Natalie Lawrence (4) and Marielle van der Woerdt (3) have been catching up recently and will most probably move forward in the coming year. Former World Champion Sarah McFadyen, who had to retire due to injury still holds position five with 6 titles.

Doubles Swapping around

In Men Doubles (34 tournaments), Women Doubles (6) and Mixed Doubles (27) there is a permanent swap of pairs, with little consistence. Only 7 pairs in total have won more than one World Tour title. In Men Doubles Christoph Krenn/Michael Dickert are the best with 9 World Tour titles, followed by Marcel Weigl/Calum Reid with 5. Only Alexander Köpf/Oliver Zwiers and Mikko Kärkkäinen/Ismo Rönkkö have booked more than one victory with two each. In Women Doubles 6 pairs hold one title each, with Simone Seitz, Rita Horvath, Martina Kakosova and Eva Hrabina all having won two titles with different partners. Mixed Doubles is dominated by the couple Michael Björnström and Mikko Kärkkäinen who have never lost a match together and hold 4 titles like Martina Kakosova and Radim Sochor, who has retired from Racketlon. Jutta Schaub/Oliver Kudicke are the only other pair with more than one victory, winning 3 World Tour titles.
