FIR ANNOUNCES World Tour 2010


As early as never before FIR announces the official World Tour 2010 with 12 tournaments in 11 countries. Two tournaments are new on the Tour, with a Super World Tour Event in Granby/Canada replacing Canadian Open in Toronto und Rhein-Neckar Racketlon in Germany. For the first time all World Champs are separated with Singles in the Netherlands, Doubles in Zürich and Nationalteams in Austria.


5 Super World Tour Events


Like 2009 the big four Super World Tour events stay the same with Swedish Open kicking opening the season rather late at the end of February in Malmö. At the beginning of June traditionally the Win for Life King of Rackets in Oudenaarde/Belgium followed only two weeks later by the newcomer of the year Championnat international de Racketlon Interplus in Granby/Canada. In the beginning of September like this year NOVOMATIC Austrian Open will be held within the World Championships for Nationalteams in 2010. Singles World Champs have been allocated to the Netherlands at the end of November. The city and exact date shall be defined shortly.


7 International World Tour Tournaments


Former World Tour tournaments are called International World Tour from 2010 with the usual stable events. Czech Open will be held in Prague as usual in March. Hungarian Open has moved back to Budapest and changed dates to beginning of May. Swiss Open will host the Double World Champs in Zürich at the end of June. Usual dates and places for David Lloyd Dutch Open, English Open and Finnish Open. Only newcomer is the German Rhein-Neckar Racketlon 2010 in Nussloch/Heidelberg.


FIR Champions League


The only Challenger currently on the list is the FIR Champions League for Club Teams in the middle of April in Vienna. Invited are national club team champions as well as all single players to compete in the normal Challenger. All other Challenger applicants still have the possibilities to hand in applications until four months before tournament begin.
