World Champs moved to City Löhne near Hannover
Last week the German Racketlon Federation (DRaV) contacted FIR with the news that the World Champs Teams and Singles 2009 from 19.-22. November cannot be held in Fürth as scheduled. FIR apologizes to all player and has tried to find the best solution for everyone and accepted the movement of the World Champs to City Löhne near Hannover in Germany at the same date. “The tournament website http://wm2009.4rackets.de/ with all information will be online this week such as the registration on www.resultreporter.net open”, promises Tournament Director Stephan Frenkel. For all players who have already booked flight tickets to Fürth please refer to the letter (English and German) by German President Gunnar Biermanns below.
To FIR-Council and FIR-Players!
Due to the global financial crisis it is unfortunately not possible for the organizer in Fürth, to put up the budget for the intended World Champs 2009 in Fürth. Gladly we wanted to present last years Racketlon Arena again, however also for financial reasons, it’s not possible. The DRaV asks the FIR and its players for their understanding.
Simultaneous the DRaV succeeded in finding another location, so that the Racketlon World Champs 2009 can take place. This is the Kaiser Center in City Löhne near Hannover and the German Racketlon Club Minden-Lübbecke e. V., who can organize this World Champs in the best way.
The German Racketlon Federation - and I personally - will do everything, so that no extra costs for players develop. We ask all players to check possibilities to transfer flights already booked to Fürth to the new airport HANNOVER and communicate personally to me per e-mail gunnar@sportpark-online.de, which extra costs would occur here. If costs get to high and necessary we offer to organize a shuttle service from Nürnberg to Löhne/Minden, to avoid additional costs. For this I carry personally the responsibility and ask for all e-mail requests by the end of July 2009.
An den Vorstand der FIR und deren Spieler!
Aufgrund der globalen Finanzkrise ist es leider dem Veranstalter der WM in Fürth nicht möglich, sein Budget für die vorgesehene WM zu organisieren. Gerne würde man dort wieder die letztjährige Racketlon Arena präsentieren, jedoch sind den Verantwortlichen dort auch aus finanziellen Gründen die Hände gebunden. Der DRaV bittet die FIR und ihre Spieler um Verständnis.
Gleichzeitig ist es dem DRaV aber möglich, einen anderen Standort anzubieten, damit auch die Racketlon WM 2009 stattfinden kann. Dies ist das Kaiser Center in Löhne bei Hannover und der Racketlon Verein Minden-Lübbecke, die diese WM durchführen können und organisatorisch bestens betreuen.
Der Deutsche Racketlon Verband - und ich persönlich - werden alles tun, damit keine Mehrkosten für Spieler entstehen. Wir bitten alle Spieler bezüglich bereits gebuchter Flüge nach Fürth Auskünfte über die Mehrkosten bei einer Umbuchung nach HANNOVER zu erkunden und mir dies persönlich per E-mail gunnar@sportpark-online.de mitzuteilen. Notfalls bieten wir auch an, bei zu hohen Mehrkosten, einen Shuttleservice von Nürnberg nach Löhne zu organisieren, damit für alle hohe zusätzliche Kosten vermieden werden. Hierfür trage ich persönlich die Verantwortung und bitte um Mitteilungen bis spätestens Ende Juli.
